Australia captain Steve Smith produced two of the finest slip catches of the summer to put the Black Caps in a perilous position on day one of the second test against New Zealand.

Fielding at second slip, Smith used rapid reflexes and perfect technique to dismiss Tom Latham before lunch.

Then Kane Williamson after lunch.
