Sri Lanka won the toss for the first time in their one-day cricket series against New Zealand and chose to bat first in the fourth match at Auckland's Eden Park today.
New Zealand have been forced to make two changes to the side which secured a 2-1 serieslead in Christchurch on Tuesday after spinner Daniel Vettori was ruled out with a virus and allrounder James Franklin withdrew with a slight knee problem though he is named as 12th man.
Vettori's absence means Jeetan Patel will have his outing of the one-day summer and the Black Caps are reduced to only 11 fit players after Nathan Astle and James Marshall were released this week.
Sri Lanka have made three changes to the side beaten by four wickets at Jade Stadium -- Tillekaratne Dilshan, Chamara Silva and Ruchira Perera make way for Chamara Kapugedera and pace bowlers Chaminda Vaas and Lasith Malinga.
The fifth and final match of the series is in Hamilton on Tuesday.
New Zealand: Stephen Fleming (captain), Brendon McCullum, Ross Taylor, Peter Fulton, Hamish Marshall, Craig McMillan, Andre Adams, Shane Bond, Mark Gillespie, Michael Mason, Jeetan Patel, James Franklin (12th man).
