New South Wales recorded a crushing nine-wicket win over New Zealand today to give the tourists a massive reality check four days out from the start of the first cricket test against Australia in Brisbane.
Set 129 for victory after New Zealand collapsed for 201 in their second innings yesterday, NSW knocked off the runs required for the loss of opener Greg Mail for 13.
Phil Jaques was unbeaten on 70 and Matthew Phelps 39 not out when the hosts reached their target in the 44th over.
