Black Caps bowler James Franklin is likely to come into the side for the second test against Australia, starting in Adelaide on Friday.
The left arm seamer has been sidelined with a groin strain, but his fitness is improving.
Franklin missed the humiliating first test loss in Brisbane, but has come through a 10-over spell in the nets without any problem, although he is still taking it day by day.
He says that with little experience of Australian conditions, he is looking forward to the chance of trying to gain selection.
It has been hard work for Franklin in the last month with the pitch conditions in Bangladesh being low and slow and he is relishing the chance to bowl on a quicker deck.
Franklin is confident the 'Gabba capitulation will have little bearing on their chances in Adelaide, with the spirit in the side being surprisingly good.
He says players have put the first test behind them, and there is a positive atmosphere in the team.
Coach John Bracewell will name his side when they have had a look at the Adelaide Oval pitch.
Spinner Paul Wiseman could come into the eleven with the pitch likely to be spinner friendly.
Meanwhile, Bracewell has let his team deal with the first test fallout individually.
The Black Caps coach has held an optional training after speaking to each player about their shortcomings on Sunday night.
Bracewell says some wanted to practice while others needed time to reflect and, in general, made good choices.
He thinks those who trained did well while the others had to refresh themselves for a tougher flat track in Adelaide.
Australia has named the same team which thumped the Black Caps in Brisbane.
