Opener Matthew Hayden was today ruled out of tomorrow's third one-day cricket international against New Zealand here as Australia made two changes to their team.
Hayden was ruled out with a shoulder injury suffered while taking a diving catch during Australia's 106-run win in Christchurch on Tuesday, and will be replaced by Simon Katich who will open with Adam Gilchrist.
Paceman Glenn McGrath will also be rested in line with Australia's bowler rotation policy, with Michael Kasprowicz returning to the side.
Captain Ricky Ponting said Hayden, who still had his arm in a sling today, was hoped to be fit for Tuesday's fourth match in Wellington.
Australia: Ricky Ponting (captain), Adam Gilchrist, Simon Katich, Damien Martyn, Michael Clarke, Mike Hussey, Andrew Symonds, Brad Hogg, Brett Lee, Jason Gillespie, Michael Kasprowicz.
