Batsman Peter Fulton has been recalled to the New Zealand cricket team for tomorrow's second test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval.
Captain Daniel Vettori confirmed Fulton would replace allrounder Grant Elliott and bat No 5, while wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum would shuffle down to No 7.
It will
be the Canterbury batsman's eighth test, and his first since he played against Bangladesh in Wellington in January.
New Zealand whittled their squad down to 12 today, with the only decision remaining whether offspinner Jeetan Patel plays at the expense of a paceman.
Vettori hinted that was unlikely, as it was a tough call to omit anyone from the pace attack of Chris Martin, Iain O'Brien and Tim Southee after their good work in the 149-run defeat in the first test.
If that was the case, then Fulton would be the only change from Brisbane.
NEW ZEALAND:
Daniel Vettori (captain), Jamie How, Aaron Redmond, Jesse Ryder, Ross Taylor, Peter Fulton, Daniel Flynn, Brendon McCullum, Tim Southee, Iain O'Brien, Chris Martin, Jeetan Patel (one to be omitted).
