Two New Zealanders are among 17 players nominated as the one-day international player of the year in the inaugural International Cricket Council awards.
Captain Stephen Fleming and spinner Daniel Vettori face stiff competition for the award, including Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, England allrounder Andrew Flintoff and Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist.
New Zealanders are named in just two of the four categories, with batsman Hamish Marshall among those in contention for the emerging player of the year award.
Only Australia, India and the West Indies have players nominated in all four individual categories.
The winners will be announced on September 7.
