Cricket: Bad light stops play at Basin Reserve

Bad light was offered to the West Indies batsmen as play was again delayed on the first day of the second cricket test in Wellington today.

The players had only been on the field for 15 minutes after returning from a rain break before they left the Basin Reserve again.

That was enough time for left-arm seamer James Franklin to complete a five-wicket haul when he trapped Runako Morton leg before wicket for 69.

It left the tourists on 167 for eight, with Ian Bradsahw not out 10 and Daren Powell on one.
