Fast bowler Shane Bond is New Zealand's 2006/07 Player of the Year.
Bond, who claimed 38 one-day international (ODI) wickets in the season, including a hat-trick against Australia in Hobart, and a five-wicket haul against the world champions at Wellington received his award at the New Zealand Cricket awards function in Auckland tonight.
Bond, who also won the Walter Hadlee trophy for bowling, claimed 10 test wickets in the season, and was the man of the match in the first test against Sri Lanka in Christchurch.
Scott Styris, who scored 655 ODI runs during the season, including 499 in the just completed World Cup in the Caribbean, won the Walter Hadlee Trophy for batting.
The Redpath Cup for best performing first class batsman went to Canterbury's Michael Papps, who struck 1005 runs at an average of 91.36.
The Winsor Cup for best bowler in the season went to Chris Martin, who took 31 wickets in the State Championship for Auckland, and 16 wickets in five tests.
Veteran Chris Harris is the domestic cricketer of the year after captaining Canterbury to the State Championship final, while scoring 428 runs at 42.8 and taking 13 wickets.
The women's domestic cricketer of the year is Wellington's Sophie Devine, who took 22 State League wickets as Wellington qualified for the final.
Helen Watson, who took 14 State League wickets for Canterbury, and 11 for the White Ferns won the Phyl Blackler Cup for bowling.
Maria Fahey, who scored 387 runs for the White Ferns and 380 for Canterbury won the Ruth Martin Cup for batting.
Mike Shrimpton, who has served cricket in New Zealand as a test and first-class player, coach and selector in a lifelong association with the game was awarded the Sutcliffe Medal for outstanding services to cricket.
