Cricket: Top coaching job for Stead

New Zealand Cricket has appointed Canterbury cricketer and former Black Cap Gary Stead as High Performance Centre coach, based at Lincoln University.

"As well as having a distinguished playing career, Gary has been involved in the coaching of players and coaches for a number of years," chief executive Martin Snedden said.

Stead will still be available to play first-class and domestic one-day cricket for Canterbury.
