Cricket: Scott leaves ND

Northern District Cricket announced today (Thurs) that Bradley Scott has decided to conclude his service to Northern Districts and return to Dunedin.

Scott, 33, advised ND of his decision last week citing family reasons as the key driver for the decision.

He leaves Hamilton with his wife Jennie and three young daughters Maia, Lucy and Olivia.

Scott moved to ND in 2008-9 from Otago and in his early seasons up north was a key player for the Knights in all forms of the game.

His last two seasons consisted only of short-from cricket, where his left arm mediums and lower-order batting proved an asset for the Knights.

He leaves ND having been a key player in a Plunket Shield victory and two domestic one-day titles.

``It has been a pleasure and a privilege to represent the Skycity Northern Knights, and we wish them well for the future. We've made a family-based decision to end our time up north, and we leave with no regrets,'' said Scott.

Outgoing ND coach Grant Bradburn saw Scott as an invaluable presence whose contribution to the team would be missed.

``Bradley can be proud of the contribution he has made to the Knights both on and off the field. Bradley's positive bubbly character has been infectious in our team environment and will be missed,'' Bradburn said.
