Cricket: Rain halts second test

DHAKA- Morning rain and an outfield made soggy by overnight showers forced play to be called off Saturday on the first day of the second and final test between Bangladesh and New Zealand.

Match referee Javagal Srinath announced the decision after a pitch inspection at 12.30 pm (0630 GMT).

Play is scheduled to begin 30 minutes earlier, at 9am (0300GMT) on Sunday, to begin making up for lost time.

New Zealand leads the series 1-0.
