The fourth one-day cricket international between the West Indies and New Zealand has been washed out at Eden Park here today - meaning the series will be decided in Napier on Tuesday, weather permitting.
Originally set 276 for victory after New Zealand made 275 for four, the West
Indies' target was amended to 235 from 40 overs after an hour-long rain delay.
The West Indies were 47 without loss after 8.4 overs when the match resumed but only 11 deliveries were possible before the rain returned.
They added 17 runs in that small window, captain Chris Gayle leading the charge as he plundered 46 from 37 balls with the score motoring to 64 in 10.3 overs - well ahead of the Duckworth/Lewis calculation.
However, a prolonged second rain delay ensured no play was possible before the 7.20pm (NZT) cut off time.
The series opener in Queenstown was also washed out on New Year's Eve.
The West Indies won the second match in Christchurch by five wickets, while New Zealand squared the series in Wellington on Wednesday - winning by seven wickets.
