A maiden List A ton from Michael Bracewell (106) and a second consecutive century from Grant Elliott (103*) has led New Zealand A to a 97 run win in their second One Dayer against Scotland in Edinburgh.
The Kiwi side now hold an unassailable 2-0 lead in the best of
three series, largely thanks to amassing an imposing first-innings total of 369-6. Doug Bracewell (4-50) then helped restrict the hosts to 272 all out after 47.5 overs, with Hamish Bennett and Daryl Mitchell also chipping in with two wickets apiece.
Having won the toss and opted to bat, New Zealand opener Hamish Rutherford (98) continued his sharp form and looked set for another ton, before falling two short in the 34th over. While he'd miss out, the following pair would not.
Bracewell scored at a steady rate initially, but following his half-century began a full scale assault on the Scotland bowlers, reaching his hundred off 86 balls. Elliott on the other hand was aggressive from the outset, crushing 13 fours and two sixes to make an unbeaten 103 off just 51 balls.
It capped another impressive effort with the bat from the touring side and left Scotland with a tremendous task in front of them.
Doug Bracewell put the hosts further on the back foot when he dismissed both openers for nought. Scotland though would keep it respectable, with Hamish Gardiner making a valiant 82, while Richie Berrington (50) and Majid Haq (54) also made half centuries.
