Batsman Brad Cachopa has won the final spot among Auckland's 12 contracted cricketers for next season.
Bloemfontein-born Cachopa hit 509 runs in last season's wretched Plunket Shield campaign for Auckland, playing all 10 games.
Auckland initially named 11 of their 12 players on July 22. Provinces had to leave betweenone and three spots open for the second cut-off yesterday.
That is done to try to ensure the 72 players, outside the national contractees, who are seen as the country's leading performers get a deal, and don't fall through the provincial cracks.
Masterton-born Greg Todd, who had last season with Auckland, and without conspicuous success - just 273 runs in 13 first-class innings - has been picked up by Central Districts. That gives Todd three different provinces in three seasons, having moved north from Otago.
Left-arm seamer Bradley Scott got Northern Districts' final spot.
Scott had been with ND for the last three seasons, then signalled he was moving back to Otago, where he had spent several seasons, before changing his mind.
