Auckland schools won all three titles at the New Zealand secondary school tennis teams competition in Christchurch.
In the boys' final Auckland Grammar beat King's College 4-2. It also won the girls' title, defeating Tauranga Girls' College 4-2.
In the mixed competition St Kentigern defeated St Peter's School, Cambridge, 5-1.
The national 16schampionships begin in Auckland this weekend.
Top seed in the boys' singles will be Jeffrey Birse of Senior College followed by Auckland Grammar's Rade Radinovich. In the girls' competition Shone Lee from Rosehill College will be the top seed.
WRESTLING
An impressive Kelston Boys High school team won the boys' section of the Auckland secondary schools championships.
Dilworth, the champions for the past eight years, finished second with De La Salle College a close third.
Pukekohe High School won the girls' section. Fittingly, Jean Pompey of Pukekohe was named best female wrestler, with Choon Tack Chan of Kelston the best male.
The Bert Walker 2003 scholarship award went to Dilworth's Hamish Chrisp.
DIVING
Tony Donaldson from Avondale College and Shaye Boddington of St Dominic's College won their titles in the senior boys' and girls' Auckland diving champs.
The intermediate titles went to Hira Edmonds of Waitakere College and Ashleigh Boddington, Shaye's younger sister.
Ngaire Wills of Takapuna Grammar won the junior girls' title.
SEVENS
Massey High School won their third consecutive North Harbour sevens title with a display of speed and skill.
Massey swept aside Westlake Boys 43-5 in the semifinals, then defeated Rosmini College 19-14 in the final.
9 BALL
Henderson High's Leighton Pologa will represent New Zealand at the World Junior 9 Ball championships in Taipei in June after winning the New Zealand title at Snookerworld in Epsom over the weekend.
SOCCER
King's College has won the right to play in Auckland's elite secondary schools' soccer competition for 2003, after a two-leg play-off against St Kentigern for the position.
