The Black Caps have been known for their low-key celebrations, but their delight nearly turned dangerous last night.
An eight run win over Australia put the Black Caps in a great spot to progress to the knockout stage of the World Twenty 20 tournament in India.
Key tothe success was recalled seamer Mitchell McClenaghan, but his figures of 3-17 included a close call while celebrating the wicket of Mitchell Marsh.
Skipper Kane Williamson went in for the high-five, and poked McClenaghan in the eye - the same eye he had recently fractured.
Fortunately, the short-form fast bowler shrugged it off, with his eye back to full capacity after being struck while batting against Pakistan, providing this nasty picture at the time.
Thanks for all the concerns. Everything is as good as it can be just a few broken bones. Great win for the boys! 🐼 pic.twitter.com/S9A2pZqETa
