Boxing: Tyson to register as sex offender under state laws

Notorious heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson will be registered as a sex offender with Tennessee and Mississippi authorities when he fights Lennox Lewis for the world title in Memphis.

Tyson was convicted of raping a beauty pageant contestant in Indiana in 1992 and was in prison for three years of a 10-year sentence.

It is not known if he will stay in Memphis or in nearby Tunica County, Mississippi, before the fight.

Both states require convicted sex offenders, under certain conditions, to register with local police.
