Boxing: Scuffle breaks out after Mundine win

Anthony Mundine defeated South African Roland Francis with a technical knockout on the Gold Coast on Monday night, moments before the bell to end the eighth round.

Mundine outclassed Francis to win the Pan Asian Boxing Association super-middleweight crown in a controversial decision. Francis had been knocked to his knees by a right uppercut during the eighth round but the referee stopped the fight as Mundine hit the South African with a series of combinations just as the bell rang.

Mundine was awarded the TKO at 2min 59s into the round. The crowd booed the referee's decision and a scuffle broke out between team members in the ring after the fight. The victory will give Mundine a top 15 WBA ranking.
