Boxing: NZ heavyweight title contender goes fishing

New Zealand heavyweight title contender Shane Wijohn tackles Queensland fisherman Mark Alexander in the Auckland Boxing Association's fight night at the Ngahura Street stadium in Eden Terrace tomorrow night.

After wins over Pua Ahotolu and Taka Burton, Wijohn is looking to make it three from three at the stadium. Alexander is coming off a first-round knockout win over Mitch O'Helia on the Anthony Mundine-Shane Sullivan undercard.

The programme will raise funds to send five amateur boxers, Steve Heremaia, August Anesone, Kahu Bentson, Sam Richardson and Henry Tuisameo, to the Oceania Games trials in Christchurch on April 5.

Tomorrow night's card also features 11 amateur bouts and four semi-professional contests.
