In the men's final between Horwell and McCartain, saw the pair stay in touch during the initial stages of the game, but by the end of the 10th end McCartain was starting show some dominance. Horwell played was never able to overtake his opposition. McCartain looked sure of the 2016/17 title by the 18th end when he was ahead 18-12. Horwell managed a couple more points but McCartain shut him out and dominated to take the game 21-14 after playing 22 ends.
The women's finalist were found in the last round of section play, where Jeffcoat defeated Katelyn Inch 21-14, Bassett defeated Amber Down by the same margin. The men had to play semi-finals to secure finals spots. In one match, eventual winner McCartain, had the measure of Richard Hocking 21-12. While in the other semi-final, Seamus Curtin, who was the winner of the National under 18 title earlier in the weekend, was unable to contain Horwell. Horwell took the game 21-10
