Bowler to appeal ban for downtrou

One of the country's top lawn bowlers intends to appeal a 10-year ban.

David File, who's won four New Zealand Championship titles, was handed the ban for exposing himself to his team mates in the locker room.

He says it was a comment on their poor performance and a joke he regrets.

File says he knows he shouldn't have done it, but is stunned at the severity of the ban and believes side-lining him for a decade will end his career.

File intends appealing to Bowls New Zealand to overturn the ban imposed by the Gisborne-East Coast Bowls Centre.
