Andrew Alderson breaks down the best bits from the third day of the second test between the Black Caps and Pakistan in Dubai.
Important moment:
It took until the 46th over of the third day and a short, wide gift from Jimmy Neesham, but New Zealand secured the breakthrough of Younis Khan for 72 to re-assert themselves and keep the deficit at the forefront of Pakistani minds.
Best shot:
Younis demonstrated his best ballroom dancing technique to advance and deposit Mark Craig onto the mezzanine floor of the stand at long-on and instigate a prolonged search. He showed fearless confidence.
Ball of the day:
Trent Boult caused Misbah-ul-Haq to dangle his bat on 28 with a ball pitching on off stump and holding its line. Ross Taylor was reliable at first slip when you consider he'd spent 84.3 overs waiting for an opportunity.
That's quirky:
This is just the second time in seven innings that Pakistan's batted below No.5.

Jimmy Neesham with the long hop slapped to cover. That's how to get Younis Khan out. #pakvnz
Stats all:
Misbah-ul-Haq has the second highest average among captains (minimum 2000 test runs). His 60.86 ranks second to Don Bradman's 101.51.
Testometer:
70:30 in New Zealand's favour as the Pakistan tail prepares to be tested.
