The halftime halfcourt shot can be a chance for a basketball fan to win big money, but it can also lead to severe embarrassment.
Unfortunately for a Cairns Taipans fan, her chance at winning $250,000 turned into a moment she won't be able to live down for a while.
Duringhalftime of the Cairns Taipans' 101-83 victory over the Sydney Kings, Taipans fan "Sally" was picked out of the crowd to try and hit the difficult shot from halfcourt.
However, she only managed to create one of the worst attempts in the history of halfcourt shots.
Getting a running start with an ill-advised high dribble, she came to screeching halt at halfcourt to try and hurl it towards the hoop with both hands.
Alas, the ball slipped from her grasp and fell just centimetres at her feet - Sally even able to potentially gather it back in.
As Fox Sports commentator Matt Russell adeptly noted, "She might need to head down to her local court sometime soon and start practising".
