A winning start to the Breakers ANBL pre-season in Christchurch.
A crowd of 6000 turned out to see the two time defending champions dispatch the Wollongong Hawks 70-61.
Coach Andrej Lemanis says it was a good starting point even if they were a little rusty.
"It was a good first hit out. As to be expected, there's plenty of things that we can get better at but that's the idea of playing the pre-season games. You need to find your combination, your rhythm.''
Mika Vukona top scored for the Breakers with 16 points.
