New Zealand basketballers Corey Webster and Steven Adams have hit the floor as NBA preseason continues.
Webster has notched his first points in NBA preseason for the New Orleans Pelicans, while Adams looked good in his first preseason game after earlier suffering from a back issue.
After notching three assistsin his first game with the Pelicans, Webster got eight minutes of action in the fourth quarter today against the Atlanta Hawks.
Webster looked for his shot more in this encounter than the first game against the Indiana Pacers, where he had just one attempt. He went 1/4 from the field, missing two jumpers and a layup while also nailing a jumper late in the game.
The Tall Blacks shooting guard added an assist, a steal and a turnover.
His rivals for the open guard roster spot had mixed games once again. Chris Douglas-Roberts, potentially the front-runner for the roster position, had six points and one assist, as did Bryce Dejean-Jones. The other competitor - Sean Kilpatrick - continued to gun away, with four shots in six minutes for six points.
Meanwhile, Adams had 10 points (3/5 FG), eight rebounds and a block in 21 minutes of court-time in his return, going up against an experienced Fenerbahce team with notable front court players in Jan Vesely and Ekpe Udoh.
The highlight of his showing was this dunk on the pick and roll after point guard Russell Westbrook thread the needle.
