The Chicago Bulls could be without first-string point guard Kris Dunn for some time after a dunk against the Golden State Warriors went horribly wrong.
After coming up with a steal late in the fourth quarter of the Bulls' loss on Thursday, Dunn ran the floor and dunked the ballhome.
However, he seemed to get hung up on the rim, and fell face first onto the court below.
The 23-year-old didn't lose any teeth, however he chipped and dislocated his front two and was forced to leave the game. He was later diagnosed with a concussion as a result of the hard fall.
INJURY UPDATE: After further evaluation, Kris Dunn’s two dislocated front teeth were stabilized & have been splinted with braces. He was also re-evaluated for concussion symptoms & has been placed in the NBA Concussion Protocol. Dunn is out indefinitely related to the concussion. pic.twitter.com/3crAEvY33s
The second-year guard has been one of the breakout players in the NBA this season after joining the Bulls as part of the trade that sent shooting guard Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
In 40 games this season, Dunn averages 14 points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals in 30 minutes per game.
