The Burger King Quest 3X3 basketball tour comes to Henderson this Sunday and, for the first time on tour, the action will be indoors at Trusts Arena.
Building on two previous successful summers, the tour opened on Auckland's North Shore three weeks ago before heading to Rotorua last weekend.
Eventdirector David Huxford says West Aucklanders love their basketball and has no doubt they will turn up in numbers on Sunday.
"West Auckland is a traditional stronghold of basketball and has a proud history, at all levels of the game from schools through to senior teams - and of course the Breakers were based at the very same venue for a number of years as they began what we now know as a dynasty in the Australian league."
3X3 is fast becoming a global sensation, with a professional world circuit, known as the World Tour, played in some of the world's most iconic locations.
New Zealand has already proven more than adept in the abbreviated format of the game, twice winning world championships (under-18 men 2011 and 2015), in the process propelling the likes of Isaac Fotu, Reuben Te Rangi and Tai Webster on to successful US College or pro careers.
Three of the 2015 team have confirmed scholarships to the USA next year: Tai Wynyard will go to Kentucky, Sam Timmins to Washington and Matt Freeman Oklahoma.
