Baseball: Teen locked up for attack on coach

The teenager who ran on the field with his father during a baseball game and attacked Kansas City Royals coach Tom Gamboa will spend at least two more weeks in custody.

The 15-year-old boy is charged with aggravated battery. If convicted, he could spend five years in a youth detention centre.

During the ninth inning, two shirtless men rushed Gamboa, 54, from behind. They knocked him to the ground, where they punched and kicked him.

Last weekend the teenager's father, William Ligue junior, 34, was held on US$200,000 bail. Ligue faces the same felony charge as his son..
