Badminton: NZ pair knocked out of Swiss Open

New Zealand mixed doubles badminton pair Dan Shirley and Sara Runesten Petersen have bowed out in the first round of the prestigious Swiss Open.

The Auckland combination, chasing good results to improve their Olympic Games qualifying ranking, went down to the talented Chinese Taipei pairing of Tsai Chia-Hsin and Cheng Wen-Hsing 15-13 15-12.

Shirley and Runesten Petersen are drawn to play the same combination in the All England Championships beginning next week.
