Cricket South Africa has charged an unnamed 'intermediary' with suspected corruption during the recently concluded Ram Slam tournament.
The domestic Twenty20 league, which ran between November 1 and December 12, has been the subject of an ongoing investigation by CSA's anti-corruption and security unit.
On Wednesday an individual was chargedwith 'contriving to fix, or otherwise improperly influence, aspects of the 2015 Ram Slam T20 Challenge Series' and has been provisionally suspended from involvement in any formally sanctioned cricket.
They were also charged with failing or refusing to co-operate with the investigation.
A statement read: 'The intermediary, who has been provisionally suspended under article 4.7.1 of the code, will now be required to respond to the charges via CSA's anti-corruption and security unit.'
CSA chief executive Haroon Lorgat said: 'Our attitude to corruption will always be one of zero tolerance and we are confident that we have the necessary structures in place to effectively deal with any corrupt activity.
'We will relentlessly pursue under our code and the law of the land any persons we believe to be involved in corrupting the game and, with assistance from the police, we will also seek criminal prosecution.'
