"The course change means less hills on the North Shore and a faster flat running surface along the bus-way which should translate into a quicker event. I would expect to see new personal bests," he said.
Should the proposed course change not be viable then the race course used in 2012, and previous years, will be used for this year.
The marathon field is 75 per cent full, the half marathon field is closed and all other events and distances are still open.

Where: Half marathon - from King Edward Parade, Devonport to Victoria Park (Auckland City). Marathon includes run to St Heliers and back. Crossing of the Auckland Harbour Bridge involves a climb of 33m to the highest point.
