Athletics: Willis out of NZ races with injury

Commonwealth Games 1500m champion Nick Willis is out of at least three races he had planned in New Zealand over the next month.

Willis was scheduled to run at Tauranga last night but pulled out with a suspected stress fracture of the fibula.

He has been training since arriving back from his base in the US before Christmas but in the past week developed tightness in his lower calf. The pain has increased ruling out even a light jog.
