New Zealand's Nick Willis has beaten a talented field of runners to win the mile race at the Boston Indoor Games.
Willis sped down the backstretch on the final lap to record a personal best and world leading time of 3min 53.54sec. The Olympic bronze medallist won the race from Mexican Pablo Solares.
Meanwhile, Australian Olympic champion Steve Hooker's become the world's second-highest indoor pole vaulter, after he cleared 6.06 metres.
Only Ukrainian legend Sergei Bubka, whose world record is 6.15 metres, has jumped higher. After clearing 6.06m, Hooker made three unsuccessful attempts at 6.16m in a bid to eclipse Bubka's record.
