27 March: The New Zealand relay team of Kamal Patwalia, Harry Symes, Felix McDonald and Nick Smith set a New Zealand under 19 record of 41.47 in finishing second to NSW in the under 20 4 x 100m relay. This breaks the Waikato team of Andrew Heaton, Doug Hope, Dale McClunie and Wayne Steeles record of 42.04 set in Hastings in 1984. NSW won in 40.98.

Southland Centennial Shield Relays, Barry Curtis Park East Tamaki - 1 April 2017

Peter Wheeler got his Pakuranga team away to a good start in the annual 5 x 3000m cross country relay with the fastest overall time of 9:47. Wheeler was ably backed by Tom Osborne, Nick Rennie, Paul Crowhurst and Steven Langdon Pakuranga winning in 50:28, nearly two minutes ahead of Auckland City Athletics. Rennie recorded 9:49 and Jono Jackson for ACA 9:54. Pakuranga B team were third. Pakuranga U/20 won the event on handicap. ACA team of Sasha Daniels, Chris Robb, Richard Conyngham and Rick Tombling won the masters 4 x 3000m relay in 43:15 from Pakuranga and Owairaka. Daniels recorded 10:23. YMCA won on handicap.

North Harbour Bays made it a clean sweep in the womens relays winning the senior and master events. Molly Savill, Anna Bramley and Katie Wright with the fastest overall time of 11:33 won the seniors in 36:39 from Wesley and Glen Eden. In the masters Cara Billon, Michelle Hopkins with a time of 12:12 and Carolyn Smith won in 38:50, from Pakuranga and Glen Eden. The handicap honours in both races went to Glen Eden.

The Pakuranga team of Kalani Hokianga, Joe Shiozawa, Arabella White and Zane Powell won the junior 4 x 2000m relay in 29:38 from ACA and Pakuranga B and Oratia third equal. Zane Powell clocked 7:08 and Arabella White 7:41.
