Athletics: Graf banned for two years

Austria's anti-doping authority has given former Olympic silver medallist Stephanie Graf a two-year ban, six years after her career ended.

The National Anti-Doping Agency said it was imposing the ban because Graf - who finished second in the 800m at the 2000 Sydney Games - had blood taken at a controversial Vienna laboratory at least once for doping purposes.

Graf, who retired shortly before the 2004 Athens Games, has admitted she had blood taken at the Humanplasma lab in 2003. But she denies it was re-injected, which would have been illegal under international anti-doping rules.

The lab revealed in March its facility had been used by several coaches to help about 30 athletes with blood doping from 2003 to 2006.

Graf, 37, also won the 800m at the European indoor championships in 2000.
