American sprinter Tyson Gay ran 9.92 seconds to win the 100m at the Zagreb World Challenge yesterday, leaving Jamaican rival Nesta Carter trailing in second in 10.07s.

Michael Rodgers of the United States was third in 10.14s. It was a good day for the Americans, with Dwight Phillips easily scoring another long jump victory with 7.85m, Nick Symmonds winning the men's 800m in 1min 45.37s; Justin Gaymon the men's 400m hurdles in 49.19s, and Lolo Jones winning the 100m hurdles in 12.87s.
