The Springboks have dropped to seventh in the World Rugby rankings, equalling their lowest position since the ranking system was created in 2003.
South Africa fell one spot behind Scotland following Sunday's 32-19 loss to Argentina in n Mendoza.
The Pumas moved into the ninth place after ending their 11-match
losing run in The Rugby Championship.
The All Blacks remain in top spot following two convincing wins over the Wallabies while Michael Cheika's side remain in fifth place.
