The All Blacks are a bully team of raw-boned farmers, says former Wallabies coach Eddie Jones.
And the only way the Australian team can beat them in tonight's Bledisloe Cup test tonight is to hit them hard - and take out captain Richie McCaw at the ruck.
"The All Blacks historically were always a bully team of raw-boned farmer types who liked to hit and hit hard," Jones wrote in a column in the Brisbane Courier-Mail.
"The farmers are fewer in the ranks now but the approach, while more sophisticated, is still based on physical intimidation."
Tonight's game at at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney will see the Wallabies try to take the Bledisloe Cup for the first time in 13 years.
It will also be a history maker as McCaw equals the record of playing 141 tests.
"The only way for the Wallabies to upset the All Blacks...is with a fast, physical start to knock the Kiwis on to the back foot and force them to think," wrote Jones.
"The Wallabies must rattle their cage early... Taking out Richie McCaw at the ruck must be part of the plan."
Jones admits it will be a tough ask for the Australians as they face an All Blacks team with 886 Test caps but an average age of just 27.
And he complains that after the cricket team's Ashes collapse against England, the Lucky Country needs a change in fortune.
The Aussies need score early, he says. "Hopefully, they do it far better than our cricketers because a chorus of Poms and Kiwis crowing together at our sporting misfortune would not be good music."
