The true FUJIFILM Business Innovation - Part 2

This article was produced by FUJIFILM Business Innovation and is being published by the New Zealand Herald as advertorial.

With the foundation for true digital transformation firmly in place, the next step is to turn potential into progress. Once data is steadily accumulating and systems are operating with stability, the next challenge is clear: making the shift to offensive digital transformation. In the second half of this feature, we will take a closer look at how to implement these more advanced solutions.

DX solutions that unleash an organisation’s potential

With both hardware and software infrastructure in place, companies are ready to move into full-scale operational efficiency and AI-driven innovation. According to their four-phase framework (see above), this marks the transition into Phases 3 and 4. This domain introduces several noteworthy solutions. “For instance, optimising the work environment for each employee, integrating physical workspaces with cloud-based systems, and reengineering entire business processes are all possibilities.” Let’s now explore these solutions, one by one.

Transforming employees’ daily work

Employees undertake a wide range of tasks every day, and boosting their productivity starts with a well-structured software environment. DocuWorks, a document-handling application developed by FUJIFILM Business Innovation, is gaining traction particularly in countries where paper- and fax-based workflows remain prevalent. This application’s ability to digitally replicate analogue work makes it ideal for smooth digital transitions in such environments.

Promoting digital transformation without relying on IT literacy

“One of its strengths is that it allows anyone, regardless of their IT literacy, to readily adopt digital workflows,” says Takizawa. For example, stamping approval documents, jotting down virtual sticky notes, and forwarding materials to other departments – all these and more can be handled through this intuitive application. “By streamlining the small everyday tasks employees handle, you improve both the speed of work and the quality of information processing across the entire organisation,” says Kikuchi.

Managing all information assets with an integrated platform

Along with building a user-friendly software environment, it is equally important to create an integrated workspace and cloud ecosystem. FUJIFILM Business Innovation offers its own platform called FUJIFILM IWpro. “FUJIFILM IWpro is designed to comprehensively manage and utilise all information assets, enabling employees to work flexibly, regardless of location or time. While Teams™ and Slack™ streamline interpersonal communication, FUJIFILM IWpro optimises the interconnection and management of information within the organisation,” explains Takizawa. Companies using the platform have reported tangible results, such as drastically shortened approval processes and fully automated data-entry tasks. “Looking ahead, we expect to see more companies combine their well-organised internal data with AI to build proprietary AI models,” adds Takizawa.

While building out these systems brings clear benefits – improving productivity and streamlining communication among employees – there is an even more critical goal that lies beyond. “Our knowledge and solutions allow us to redesign workflows to be faster, leaner, and more resilient – directly enhancing a company’s competitiveness,” says Kikuchi.

Unique AI Built from in-house data

“In the emerging era of AI, companies that can develop their own proprietary AI models using internal data will gain a significant competitive edge,” says Kikuchi. Typically, building an AI model requires skilled personnel, along with significant time and investment. However, with FUJIFILM IWpro Intelligent Assistant, the entire process – from data cleansing and algorithm development to validation – can be executed automatically in a single, streamlined flow. This allows companies to quickly and easily build AI models optimised for their specific operations. “If companies can’t use AI easily and meaningfully in their day-to-day work, there’s no point in introducing it,” Takizawa emphasises.

The power of combining countless solutions

“What I’ve introduced here is only a small part of what we offer,” says Kikuchi. FUJIFILM Business Innovation has access to hundreds of internal and external solutions, with virtually limitless combinations tailored to each company’s needs. What began with multifunction printers has evolved into a broad spectrum of solutions spanning document handling, BPO, cloud services, and AI. Today, the company plays a far more integrated role: a strategic partner supporting information asset utilisation and comprehensive business process transformation. This evolution is backed by deep, on-the-ground experience across APAC, and a keen ability to assess and adapt to rapidly shifting technology trends. “No matter how much the world changes,” Kikuchi adds, “we’ll be right beside our customers – combining the right solutions at the right time. When they’re ready to take the next step, we want to be the ones helping map out that path forward.”
