Kiwi Supercars fans will get the chance to see so much more than the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship when the ITM Auckland SuperSprint hits Pukekohe in early November.
There will be a record number of support classes this year, to go alongside the main event. Six different support class categories will each get their chance to shine on the Pukekohe track on the weekend of the 4-6 November.
The BNT NZ Touring Cars are back after building on the success of the inaugural season. New Zealand's only premier V8 Championship is all revved up and ready to go for the start of the new season. It will be a superb line-up of the country's best male and female V8 Touring Cars drivers, along with one of Australia's greatest thrown into the equation. At the front of the combined grid will be the "Class One" Space framed cars, featuring the ultra-quick V8 SuperTourers and V8 TLX specification Cars. Just behind them will be the development series "Class Two" V8 Cars. Holden Commodores and Ford Falcons based on a production floor pan.
The Toyota Finance TR 86 will have their season-opener at the ITM Auckland SuperSprint. It's New Zealand's only "one-make" Premier Saloon Car Championship and after a substantial increase in grid numbers during last season, the TR 86 makes for a great race car package.
The ENZED Central Muscle Cars is always a crowd favourite at Pukekohe and this year will be no different, with a number of new cars being built for this season. It will be the best line-up of V8 Muscle Cars this country has to offer. Mustangs, Commodores, Corvettes and Falcons just to name a few, will go head to head in some of the most exciting racing you will see.
Heading into the third season as the country's only "one-make" Ute Series, the SsangYong Actyon Utes has continued to grow in strength. There are a lot of young, up and coming male and female drivers in this category, so it's certainly one to watch.
The NZ V8 Utes will start its 10th season at the ITM Auckland SuperSprint this year. It's one of New Zealand's longest running and most competitive series. There will be an estimated field of 17 tail happy V8 Utes racing around the Pukekohe Circuit.
And finally the Aussie Racing Car class, one of the most popular and closely fought across the Tasman, is making its debut in New Zealand. The class combines the best of established racing technology assembled in an engineered package that gives it amazing performance while being controlled in a one-design class where all cars are mechanically identical. All cars are approximately half the size of their full sized counterparts, with the driver's skill level being the determining factor for winning.
