Morocco is a year-round destination that has “so much to offer”, Intrepid Travel’s Leah Johnson told Herald NOW’s Ryan Bridge TODAY. She said the “phenomenal food” is one of the North African nation’s biggest drawcards, with liberal use of spices and an abundance of tagines and pastillas. Johnson recommends a visit to Fez to see the tanneries, and says Morocco’s landscapes are “fantastic”, with the Sahara in the south, Rift Mountains in the north, and the Atlantic coast all offering totally different experiences. The people are “really warm and welcoming”, Johnson adds, with a culture that is “quite different to what we’re used to in New Zealand”. She says a small group tour with Intrepid could be a great option for Kiwis, with all the logistics and “boring parts” taken care of – so you can focus on immersing yourself in all Morocco has to offer.
