One of the biggest chunks of 'greenfield' commercial real estate landholdings on the fringe of Taupo's central business district is for sale.
The flat freehold 891sq m section at 99 Horomatangi St is zoned for commercial use.
Formerly the heavy truck drive through diesel pump area for the adjacent Caltexservice station, the site was decommissioned some years ago and has since been used only as a parking area.
The corner site property is being marketed for sale through Bayleys Taupo with tenders closing on August 3.
Salesperson Brendon Gallagher says the property is strategically located - one block from the town's shopping centre and central business district, two blocks from the lake, alongside one of the main feeder streets into town, and just a few hundred metres from the Taupo District Council public car park.
"Opposite Taupo Primary School to the north and overlooking what are presently playing fields to the east and a service lane to the rear, the property really has only one direct neighbor - giving it a very open and uncrowded feel," Gallagher says.
