Big Howick and Albany sales

Blair Chandler of Whillans Realty Group has sold 60 Picton St for $9,810,000, a 4060sq m property in Howick Town Centre. It included 1098sq m of retail leased to NZ Post and Kiwibank, generating $328,444 per annum, plus a consented 2510sq m development site. Chandler also sold 39 Corinthian Drive for $5,910,000 comprising a 1.4 ha landholding with a high profile to the Albany motorway generating $175,500pa from 213 carparks.

Hamilton commercial premises

The 589sq m Stihl Shop commercial premises on a freehold 2118sq m site at 720 Te Rapa Rd, Hamilton, has sold at auction for $1,460,000 through Mark Brunton and Alan Pracy of Colliers International.

Hobsonville bare land sites

Two bare land sites zoned Light Industry in Hobsonville have been sold for close to $4.7m by Laurie Burt of Bayleys North Shore Commercial and Grant Miller of Bayleys West Auckland. They sold a 6280sq m site at 43 Westpoint Drive for $3,045,800 at $485 per sq m to an owner-occupier intending to build a factory. Miller also sold a 4800sq m site, at 102 Hobsonville Rd, for $1,650,000, at $343.75 per sq m.

West Auckland sale

A 680 sqm commercial premises on a freehold 1,511 sqm property at 1 Glendale Rd, West Auckland has been sold at auction by John Davies, Michael Bray, Nilesh Patel and Leroy Brown of Colliers International for $2,890,000 representing a yield of 8.5 per cent.
Grey Lynn warehouse

An under-developed 531sq m Mixed Use zoned site at 12 Nixon St, Grey Lynn with a 589sq m 1960s' medium-stud warehouse plus basement has sold with vacant possession for $2,250,000 through Cameron Melhuish, and Ben and Andrew Wallace of Bayleys Auckland.

Mt Eden retail property

A 378sqm retail property on a freehold site at 395 Mt Eden Rd, Auckland has been sold by Gawan Bakshi, Peter Kermode and Adam White of Colliers International at auction for $4.1m representing a yield of 4.5 per cent.

High St unit sells for $2.1m

An 88sq m retail outlet at 3-7 High St in Auckland's CBD has sold for $2,115,000 at a 4.9 per cent yield through Sarah Boles of Bayleys Auckland and Jim Wana of Bayleys Wellington. The unit has a new five-year lease plus one five-year right of renewal to footwear retailer Timberland which has relocated from Britomart.

An 850sq m two-level retail and office building on a 769sq m freehold site at 240 Thorndon Quay, Pipitea, Wellington has been sold for $2.2m by Rex Fowler and Sam McIlroy of Colliers International.

A 1548sq m storage facility on a 3046sq m site at 34 Valley Rd, Whakatane, and comprising a multi-tenanted 74-unit complex, sold as a freehold going concern for $1,325,000 at a Bayleys Tauranga Total Property auction through Brendon Bradley and Matthew Gibbard.

East Tamaki corner bar

A 443sq m restaurant and bar on a high-profile corner site at 272 Ti Rakau Drive, East Tamaki, has sold for $1,425,000 at 6 per cent yield through Tony Chaudhary of Bayleys South Auckland. It has a 10-year lease to Ye Olde Bailey from September 2007, with one five-year right of renewal.

Te Rapa Fire Security HQ

The 1095sq m NZ head office building for Fire Security Services Ltd on a 5000sq m site at 183 Maui St, Te Rapa has sold for $5.2m, at a 6.35 per cent yield, through Sunil Bhana, and Mike Houlker of Bayleys Auckland with Andrew Shaw of Bayleys Hamilton. It comprises 890sq m of office and 178sq m of warehousing, plus a 26sq m mezzanine and has a 12-year lease from September 2014.

Marua Rd Mt Wellington

Bayleys has sold neighbouring properties in Marua Rd, Mt Wellington, for close to $5m. A 784sq m commercial building on a 1019sq m site sold for $2,508,198 at a 6 per cent yield through James Valintine, Sunil Bhana and Andrew Wallace, Bayleys Auckland. It has 651sq m of offices and 113sq m of warehousing, plus 20 carparks with a 12-year lease to Fire Security Services, from September 2014. At 143 Marua Rd, a 1486sq m mixed-use building with commercial and residential tenants sold for $2,300,000, a 5.7 per cent yield, through Valintine and Bhana.

A 430sq m office and warehouse facility at 12 Industrial Lane, Queenstown, has been sold by Mary-Jo Hudson and Rory O'Donnell of Colliers International for $1,080,000 representing a yield of 6.48 per cent.

A 3670sq m bare land site with a Light Industry zoning at 9 Austen Place, Pukekohe, which was featured in Bayleys' Total Property portfolio, sold at auction for $900,000 at $245 per sq m through Shane Snijder and Peter Migounoff
