When it came to putting the house at 133 Mill Flat Rd, Coatesville, on the market, property developer Patrick Chandulal began to feel the pressure — not to sell it, but to keep it.
Both he and his partner enjoyed the five-bedroom, three-bathroom house with its smart, contemporary interiorand manicured garden, its luxury bathrooms, big living areas and pool room.
But Patrick has been subdividing properties in rural Coatesville into lifestyle blocks for the past decade now, and keeping them is not the name of the game, no matter how appealing they are.
He bought this property, which comprises the house on 1ha and two separate 1ha blocks, earlier this year, attracted by the many boxes it ticked for a high-end subdivision.
Said Patrick: "What I've learned over time is that purchasers in this market want flat, north-facing land with mature trees, in a subdivision that is nicely finished off with good planting and accessways. And of course, good value for money."
The blocks are for sale by negotiation, and the house is the jewel in the crown. At 366sq m, it has a lovely outlook and it is surrounded by lawns and mature trees.
Built in the 1970s, it has been refurbished over excellent bones and now presents a smart, contemporary image. With schist detailing inside and out, it comprises a spacious open plan living area with kitchen at its centre.
