Milnes of Remuera will change its name to Airlie Court to complete a re-imaging after a $1 million refurbishment project.
Realignment of the mall has created a new tenancy area which is expected to be taken by a national chain.
The mall, at the northern end of the Remuera shopping strip, was sold last year, after five years in the hands of investor and developer Chris Verissimo. The 1856 sq m building's existing 10 tenancies were returning just over $516,000, giving a 9.47 per cent yield on the $5.455 million price paid when Gavin and Winifred Kellaway bought it under the hammer last year to add to their Airlie property collection.
The Kellaways own some industrial properties and four Airlie lodges.
The transition from Milnes to Airlie Court is scheduled for completion early in November, with new shop fronts and signage and reconfiguring of the upper level entry from the car park.
