The concept developed for the site envisaged a mix of one- and two bedroom units with decks overlooking the city or Lake Pupuke and the Waitemata Harbour and Rangitoto Island.
"A six-storey block is planned for Anzac St that would play an important role at the corner with Auburn St while an additional eight-storey block, with outlooks in each of the four directions, would maximise coverage."
The plan provides for 23 single- bedroom units, 38 double-bedroom units and one three-bedroom unit. A cafe would occupy retail space on the Anzac St and Auburn St corner beside another small commercial unit.
"The development allows for a generous communal courtyard and a lap pool along the northern boundary," Bibby said.
Seekup said the property was across the road from Takapuna Primary School and within easy walking distance of most of Takapuna's restaurants, cafes, bars, boutique retail shops and Takapuna Beach.
"A bus stop is on the opposite corner and dual on-ramps to the State Highway One motorway are a short distance to the west at Esmonde Rd and Northcote Rd.
"The block of properties in the precinct bordered by Auburn St, Killarney St, Anzac St and Lake Pupuke Drive is zoned Residential 8 under the North Shore District Plan. This provides for more intensive, quality developments and is designed to encourage the amalgamation of smaller sites to form development parcels."
Jiao said there was a strong demand for apartments in Takapuna.
The vendors would provide the successful buyers with a resource consent as well as the intellectual property and the planning and development contacts for the project.
