The Novotel/Ibis Ellerslie, a $27 million hotel, opens this month.
The hotel is what the industry terms "dual branded," that is, two operations out of the one building - a 147-room four-star Novotel and a 100-room three-star Ibis.
The only other dual-branded complex in Asia-Pacific is the Novotel/Ibis in the OlympicVillage at Homebush Bay, in Sydney.
The new Auckland hotel is on Greenlane Rd East, adjacent to the Ellerslie Convention Centre and Ellerslie Racecourse.
The owner, Accor Asia Pacific, says it is targeting New Zealand for considerable growth.
