Private maternity facility Birthcare Auckland has signed a 12-year lease on the top floor of a three-level medical centre planned for one corner of the Royal Foundation for the Blind's 2.6ha Parnell property.
The Bledisloe Estate Trust, which manages the foundation's property and has been introducing commercial operations steadilyover the past six years, has had a building designed in keeping with the style of the site's brick buildings and the neighbouring museum, across Titoki St.
Work should start on site at the end of this month for completion of the medical centre in October.
The trust's general manager, John Bullen, said work to erect a six-level, 9800 sq m office building on the property's other Titoki St corner, on George St, would start work only once tenants were secured.
