Driven, The New Zealand Herald's lift-out covering motoring from every angle, is giving you and three mates the chance win an amazing open wheel advanced driving experience with Bryce Townsend.

This is your opportunity to experience the sheer thrill of getting behind
the wheel of two of the world's greatest racecars - Midget and Sprint cars. Learn key driving skills spanning from how to safely operate racecars through to how to take the chequered flag and gain a competitive advantage following race lines, all while having the ride of your life in these speedy cars!

The winner and three friends will each choose a Midget or Sprint car (two of each available) and will be coached through an advance training course of 100 laps by Bryce Townsend. A former two-time New Zealand TQ Midget Car Champion with a career amassing over 80 feature event wins in NZ and USA, Bryce will take you through everything you need to know about racing these cars and being in control behind the wheel.
This hands on experience will blow you away, don't miss your chance to be in to win.

Competition closes 5pm, Thursday, October 6, 2011.
Entry into this promotion implies full acceptance of all terms and conditions.


Terms & Conditions

1. Information on how to enter, and prizes form part of these terms and conditions. Any entry not complying with these terms and conditions is invalid.

2. Entry is open to all residents of New Zealand and entrants must be over the age of 18.

3. Employees of the Promoter, the Promoter's associated companies, the Promoter's agencies and partners associated with this promotion and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.

4. Participants may enter only once each day of the Promotion Period. Any form of automated entry using any other devices or software is invalid.

5. The promotion runs from 4pm, Friday, September 9, 2011 and closes at 5pm, Thursday, October 6, 2011.

6. The promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process or for submitting an entry, which is not in accordance with the Conditions of Entry.

7. The prize consists of an advance driving course: 2 Midget Car Experiences and 2 Sprint Car Experiences instructed by Bryce Townsend. The Advance Course will mainly focus on driving lines, braking drills, apex drills and learning how to read the racetrack. The majority of the day of this course is spent on the track and the course consists of approximately 100 laps. There is a maximum of 4 people in each advance course to enable more one on one instruction to the drivers. All equipment except for shoes will be supplied for your experience at Bryce Townsend's Open Wheel Driving Experience (sports shoes are ok). You will be supplied with safety equipment, a helmet, gloves & driving suit to use on Saturday, September 3, 2011 during your instruction.
Total prize value is up to = NZ$6,000

8. The winner plus companions must make their own way to Patetonga Speedway.

9. The prize must be taken on Saturday, December 3, 2011, or Saturday December 10, 2011 at the discretion of Bryce Townsend Open Wheel Experience.

10. An indemnity form must be signed by all drivers before participating in the Open Wheel Driving Experience to claim the prize.

11. No amendments or cancellations will be allowed

12. The prize (or any unused portion of the prize) is not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable for cash and cannot be altered.

13. Any meals, sightseeing or activities, accommodation, personal spending money, transport to and from Patetonga Speedway and all other ancillary costs, are the responsibility of the winner and their travel companions, and is not included in the prize.

14. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize for one of comparable type, quality and value.

15. The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw this promotion or any part of this promotion should their ability to fulfil due obligations be limited at any stage by any form of technical failure.

16. The winners will be notified by email and/or telephone.

17. Entry into this promotion implies full acceptance of all terms and conditions.

18. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests
relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize.

19. The Promoters decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

20. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the promoter in its absolute discretion.

21. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster, the Promoter reserves the right (subject to all relevant state and territory regulations) to either provide an alternative prize to the same value as the original prize or to cancer, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.

22. Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date.

23. No responsibility will be taken for late, lost or misdirected entries.
